Santa At The Mall Of Victor Valley: Southern California Child Photographer

I have been so behind on my blog posts and for that I apologize. It has been crazy this year! But a good kind of crazy. I am so thankful for this year and all the new clients/friends that I have made and I can only hope that 2018 is just as good. You guys are truly amazing!

Let's talk about Santa shall we? Tess' first two Christmases I took her to our local mall to take pictures with Santa and both years were horrible. I mean, Santa was under the influence of something and I know some of you know what I'm talking about because you might have the same pictures. Then the next few years I went down to Victoria Garden's and that Santa was great.

Since this year has crept up on me and I hardly have time to catch my breath, we had to resort to the mall of Victor Valley again. What a mistake! I noticed that it was taken over by a new company and at first glance I liked what I saw. The set was way better than before and I liked the way they have you walk in. It was more interesting I guess. And then we saw Santa. My immediate thought was "Did they just pick up a homeless guy off the street?" I have no problem with homeless people or them getting job opportunities, but this guy was so dirty! His beard was dirty, his face looked dirty, and the suit they use every year that probably never gets washed was filthy. I mean get a new suit!

Not only was his appearance gross, but he was also not so jolly. Before we went Tess asked me if we were seeing the real Santa and I said yes. When the kids got up to him they could feel his demeanor and they were nervous. Hunter didn't want to get close to him and Tess was shaking a nervous shake and had her hands by her mouth in a shy way. He asked Tess what she wanted for Christmas and she started telling him. He pulled her hands down from her mouth and said "get your hands away from your mouth." He did this a few times and even told her "stop shaking and tell me what you want for Christmas." The way he said it was so rude.

I must say that my kids are not afraid of many people including Santa or the Easter Bunny. We don't have those funny crying pictures that everyone has when they take their kids in for pictures. But they were scared of this guy!

So here I am sharing some of the photos with you all. Notice their faces and how uncomfortable they look with him.

Then after the whole experience Tess was so upset at how mean he was and asked me again if that was the real Santa so I had to tell her that he wasn't and that it was just one of his helpers and I thought it was going to be the real guy.

I will never again go to our Mall to see Santa I just have to make time to go down the hill. Live and learn.

Now that my sessions are done for the year and I am just getting caught up on editing I will resume with weekly blog posts after Christmas. Thanks again to all of you who have supported my business and have trusted me in capturing your family memories! Have a Merry Christmas.
